EA Confirms Battlefield 6 Is Getting Battle Royale, Releases Chaotic Teaser Trailer

Confirming rumors that have swirled for months, Battlefield 6 will indeed have a battle royale mode. Battlefield global community manager Kevin Johnson took to social media to confirm that battle royale arrives on Battlefield Labs for testing soon. EA had teased the battle royale mode with a short clip also posted to social media, which shows chaotic, explosive gameplay. Play soon in Battlefield Labs 🌴 #Battlefield6 pic.twitter.com/qbjcfhFHSZ — Battlefield (@Battlefield) July 31, 2025 This is not Battlefield’s first foray into battle royale territory, of course. 2019’s Battlefield V had a battle royale mode called Firestorm, although it failed to catch on and was eventually blown out of the water by Call of Duty’s battle royale mode, Warzone. According to previous leaks, Battlefield 6’s battle royale features a map set in California, with insertion via CH-47 Chinook. The destructive ring is apparently made out of a compound called "NXC.” EA, then, will be hoping for a better return from this new attempt, although it remains to be seen exactly when and how it will be released in the context of Battlefield 6’s October 10 launch date.
