Ubisoft Launches $500,000 Real-Life Treasure Hunt Inspired by Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting real-world treasure hunt linked to Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, offering a staggering $500,000 prize hidden somewhere in the Caribbean.

Ubisoft has revealed an intriguing real-world treasure hunt themed around Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, featuring a remarkable $500,000 prize concealed somewhere in the Caribbean. The treasure consists of specially minted solid gold coins valued at $350,000, along with a rock crystal skull adorned with a red opal jewel, estimated to be worth an additional $150,000. This treasure, aptly named 'The Lost Treasure of Edward Kenway,' pays homage to the game's legendary pirate-turned-Assassin protagonist, and will be awarded to anyone who can decipher a series of 15 intricate riddles. While the puzzles are inspired by Black Flag, players do not need to have prior experience with the game to participate. This initiative is a partnership with Unsolved Hunts, a company specializing in real-life treasure hunts that previously launched a similar challenge leading to a €250,000 replica of King Arthur's iconic sword, Excalibur. Participants must pay to access the clues, with entry packs starting at £31 (approximately $41). Higher-tier options are also available, including a £177 (about $240) Pirate Lord Pack that features a physical version of the clues and other themed items. If you're concerned about missing out on the remastered version of Black Flag while you embark on your treasure-seeking adventure, there's no need to worry. Pre-orders for the treasure hunt are currently open, but the actual hunt won't commence until November 9. Additionally, if you're worried about balancing this with your anticipated playtime for GTA 6 in November, you can relax; the puzzles are designed to be quite complex, with estimates suggesting that it could take players anywhere from two to five years to fully solve them. The treasure hunt's website encourages team participation, although one individual must be designated to receive the prize, with the option to share it afterward. All puzzles can be solved remotely, so there's no need to rush to the Caribbean just yet, even though the treasure itself will be located in that region—ensure your passport is up to date. After a series of leaks, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is just months away from its release. The eagerly awaited remake is scheduled to launch on July 9 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and a $200 Collector's Edition will also be offered, featuring the same Edward Kenway statue that appeared on Vinted earlier this year.
