Layers of Fear 3 Announced by Bloober Team Following Silent Hill 2 Remake

Bloober Team confirms their next installment in the horror series, Layers of Fear 3.

Bloober Team has officially announced the next chapter in their psychological horror series, Layers of Fear 3, following a teaser last month. During a video presentation commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Layers of Fear franchise, CEO Piotr Babieno expressed gratitude to fans for their continued support over the years, leading up to the unveiling of Layers of Fear 3. The Layers of Fear series, known for its immersive psychological horror experiences, has previously released three main titles: the original Layers of Fear in 2016, its sequel Layers of Fear 2 in 2021, and a remake that came out in 2023. While specific details regarding the release date and supported platforms for Layers of Fear 3 are still under wraps, Bloober Team has shared an eerie live-action teaser. The footage features a man reciting William Blake’s poem, The Sick Rose, in an opulent room. Viewers catch glimpses of a painting depicting a woman, likely representing the “sick rose,” alongside another artwork that appears to show a humanoid figure with a sewn-shut mouth, immersed in sickness. A spectral figure drifts past the painting, leading to the artwork of the woman crashing to the floor. The man dismisses this disturbance, attributing it to his “little friend” who is trying to assist but has yet to master the afterlife. The teaser culminates with a Valentine’s Day warning to viewers, as the man flips a sand timer. The tagline for Layers of Fear 3 states: “Some Things Never Leave The Walls. They Only Learn To Wait.” At this moment, that's all the information available on Layers of Fear 3, which will be developed alongside Bloober Team's Silent Hill remake. The studio is also working on various smaller projects through its subsidiary, Broken Mirror Games, including a mysterious Nintendo Switch exclusive known as Project M. This announcement comes on the heels of a successful period for the Polish developer, particularly with their remake of Silent Hill 2 for Konami and their own titles such as Cronos: The New Dawn and The Medium.
