Inspired by the infamous Lament Configuration puzzle box from the 1987 film, this supernatural artifact connects players to the Cenobite realm. In essence, it operates like a sinister Rubik's Cube. In the hands of the player, protagonist Aidan utilizes the Genesis Configuration in his quest to rescue his girlfriend, Sunny. The trailer demonstrates how he can manipulate this device to gather items, such as rusty metal spikes, and hurl them back at adversaries, reminiscent of the gravity gun from Half-Life 2. Additionally, the cube possesses the ability to absorb environmental elements, allowing Aidan to harness fire from nearby flames as he unleashes destructive attacks on demons, causing them to explode upon impact. It can also be used in more visceral ways, such as impaling it into the spine of unsuspecting victims. For those seeking a momentary reprieve from the brutality, the Genesis Configuration will also serve as a tool for solving puzzles, providing a brief interlude of shape manipulation amid the chaos. The gameplay trailer further showcases the game’s commitment to extreme violence. A brutal glory kill reminiscent of Doom is visible, as flesh stretches horrifyingly during a face being torn from its skull. Aidan's hand plunges into a mass of flesh covered in nails, only to be caught by a twitching mass of meat with teeth.
