Digital Bros. Acquires Wuchang: Fallen Feathers IP from Chengdu Lingze Technology

Digital Bros., an Italian video game company, has successfully acquired the intellectual property rights for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. The acquisition, approximately valued at $4.6 million, was made from Chengdu Lingze Technology Co. Ltd., the game's developer. This deal grants Digital Bros. complete ownership of the soulslike action RPG, including all future royalty earnings associated with it. Intellectual property rights enable individuals or businesses to protect their creations through patents, trademarks, or copyrights, even when dealing with intangible assets such as narratives or specific gameplay mechanics. This protection allows for the release of various media formats, ensuring that others cannot replicate or utilize these ideas without proper authorization. Digital Bros. expressed confidence in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, noting it has shown "strong commercial traction" since its launch last year. The game has reportedly surpassed 1 million unit sales since July 2025, generating over $35.1 million in revenue. The company believes that owning the IP will enhance its decision-making capabilities regarding future developments and investments, aligning with its strategy to expand its portfolio of fully-owned game franchises. Although the name Digital Bros. may not be widely recognized, many gamers have likely enjoyed titles published by its subsidiary, 505 Games. This subsidiary has been responsible for distributing popular games such as Terraria, Dead by Daylight, and the PC and Xbox versions of Death Stranding. Previously, Digital Bros. owned the rights to the game Control, which were sold back to its developer, Remedy Entertainment, in 2024. Regarding Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, this acquisition is expected to strengthen the franchise's position in the market for the foreseeable future.
